000000218 520__ $$aThe new experimental method for discriminating between polarization and real charges in polymeric electrets was suggested. It is based on measurements of local electrical field E  using the step electroacoustic method (SEA) and total current density during thermally stimulated discharge of the electret sample. The above method, named shortly E-j, was applied for investigation of corona charged PET electrets.
